It is the fruit of an ongoing and intensive collaboration and friendship between the artist and the art historian Christina-Marie Luemen, and the shared belief in the necessity of art to create physical and emotional encounters and to foster a sense of the unknown vis-à-vis a technologically shaped environment.

The publication explores themes, visual motifs, and historical references in Alizée Gazeau’s work. Comprising painting, sculpture, and photography, the artist investigates the existence of objects, ideas of transformation, trace, the imprint, and time. She employs the historical – both materially, in the form of used objects, and conceptually, as memory – to create a dialogue with the present.
